Old School

Just got of MSN...had a brief but nostalgic chat wit former Samadians( Sultan Abdul Samad High School/SAS)...havent spoken to them in ages...and i mean ages...talkin to them brought back so many memories from school...memories of the crazy things we did, the things we went thru, the meaning of friendship and loyalty...to me, we were like brothers...even now....even tommorow and the day after

For those who know me well, explanation isnt neccesary...but for the benefit of others, i was in SAS for 3 years before shifting to Catholic High School in my 4th and final year in high school...i wont go into details why i shifted...to be brief, i wasnt exactly a very well behaved student and i got into a sack full of shit which resulted in my need to change schools...my days in high school was like a rollercoaster ride...but no doubt the best ride of my teenage years!...

My years in SAS was the best time of my teenage life...my mates and me never studied, always skipped classes, harassed the gals with water, got into loads of fights, got our asses whipped everyday...and we did it again the next day...we were kings at school and even the teachers closed one eye when we waltz in and out of classes while they were teaching...wasnt a surprise that all our attendance were marked even tho were were never dere...courtesy of the class president...lol...

The onli teacher we were afraid of was Mr Lee(Rest In Peace)...Mr Lee was the the drill sergeant, he was Dr Jekyll and Hyde, he was the Sauron of our fair school...who is he?...Mr Lee was the disciplinary teacher of SAS...and the meanest and baddest teacher that ever walked thru Sultan Abdul Samad High School...he used to carry this massive rotan(ratan stick) to whip any undiciplined ass...i used to get whipped almost every day...he even whipped the school prefects!...that grimy old bastard!...he took his job so seriusly he used to ride his bike thru the school rounding up misfits and students who 'Ponteng kelas'(skipped class)...and all the while he would have his massive stick at the back of is shirt like a samurai sword...man, he just lived to whip ass...and if u really pissed him off, he would whoop ur legs instead...the bruise would last a week!...he was still at SAS when i left for Catholic High School....few years later i attended his funeral...seems his heart gave way(no surprise there)...anyways when i reached the funeral, the were tons of students there!...and most of them were the guys who were always at the receiving end of his stick!...Mr Lee was feared and maybe hated, but he was respected and had a huge impact on our days in SAS...i guess he'll just leave us with painfull but sweet memories of his legacy as the hardest stick ever...Rock on in Heaven Mr Lee!...

But the best part of high school were the times my mates and me hung out and the stuff we did together...those were the days...that was almost 8 years ago...now it seems so far away...sometimes i feel ive gotten old too fast...ppl i used to be so close to are distant strangers too far to reach...time really flies...in a couple of months i'll be graduating from Uni and working... and my experiences in Uni will be another memory...more bittersweet memories for the years to come...hopefully we remember each other and make an effort to hold on to these memories and the friendship we have... how sad our lives would be without friends...SAMADIANS FOR LIFE

*for all former SAS students out there...keep your friends close, Samadians closer*

btw, the movie Old School is pretty funny...cheers!
