Alive and Well

Yes im still around....just unfortunately busy and tired...an from the looks of it, my blogging will be affected...but ive long decided not to gripe and moan about life so heres some pork chops to digest...

1) Drove down to Coventry to attend the Warwick Games(another sports event) hosted by the Malaysian Society of Warwick Uni...being a member of UKEC, my Uni(UEL) was naturally invited to the sporting event...32 members attended...the drive there was good, event was boring....and yes, i drove the same 2.4 litre, twin cam, turbo diesel minibus(awesome torque!)...i just hadto add that...lol

2) Was given valuable insight into an upcoming project at work...it involves reselling 3G mobile solutions namely BlackBerry, Freedom2:mail, and ConnectAnywhere...very cool mobile e-mail solutions that can be used by anyone who's always on the move...might get the chance to get hardware and software training fer the BlackBerry...brilliant!

3) Finally stopped procrastinating and got down to my management assignment which involves researching Apple Computers...btw, did i mention that i got conned when i tried to buy an iPod Shuffle of eBay?...imagine an e-commerce acolyte falling prey to a scam on eBay....im ashamed of myself....on a positive note, i got a full refund after severely hitting back at the seller by posting negative feedback...u deserve it wanker!...

So heres some tips for buying on eBay:

a) READ the product and delivery info at least 3-5 times

b) STUDY the history and feedback of the seller(go for sellers with at least 90% positive feedback)

c) E-MAIL the seller and enquire more detailed info about the product, delivery charges/dates, conditions

d) THEN read the product and delivery info another 3-5 times

DONT BE A VICTIM OF A SCAM !...like me

So if u follow my eBay buyers guide, im pretty sure purchasing from eBay will be a rewarding experience...as for my iPod, i bought it off Apple's website which offered free delivery...69 quid there...69 x 7.2 = quite alot of Malaysian Ringgit...lol...

lets move on...

4) Somewhere in the middle of the week, my brain went cuckoo...i decided to start my own e-commerce business...yes thats right, my own business...it involves selling car performance accesories online...in fact im currently sourcing for an experienced web designer to set it up for me...yes i must be losing my marbles

5) Had a superb steamboat dinner(tom yam soup) at a Chinese restaurant in North London(nearby Collindale Stn)....the restaurant was in a shopping complex called Oriental City...aptly named because it sells everything oriental from cheongsam's to antique furniture...and it seems Siti Nurhaliza is to make a special apearance there...she'll be performing at The Royal Albert Hall on April 1st...no small feat for a Malaysian...Siti's in my cool book now...lol

So that was my week...my eyeballs tell me they're dry and tired...so i'll hit the sheets now and dream of my iPod which should arive on tuesday... cheers!

HAPPY EASTER !

Outdated Update For Today

Ok ive just realised that a fair number of ppl read my blog...because of that i thought my last posting sounded rather iritable so im just posting this to cover up...been over a week since the last post and nothing's new....its just work and studies fer me....im startin to get more work in the office cos me boss wants to launch some new projects...one of them involves reselling 3g mobile data solutions namely BlackBerry, Freedom2:Mail, and ConnectAnywhere...very cool stuff...other than that, nothing particularly interesting happened

Oh actuali there was one interesting day...i basically screwed up a major print job for a list of crucial clients and i got an interesting response from the boss...."Justin, you fucked them up didnt you!?"...i spose he was kinda pissed...lol...but i sorted it out later that day...

So as u can read, nothing exciting goin on here...unless u consider constant police and ambulance sirens thrilling....i can hear the wail of an ambulance now...ahha...well this weekend should be interesting cos i'll be headed to Warwick fer the Warwick Games!....seems Warwick games is the second biggest Malaysian sports event after Notts Games...so the UEL MSoc is gona have its 1st road trip of the year!(not including London Regional Games)...if we have time, i'll definately check out Warwick Castle again....the last time i was at Warwick was during my sisters's convocation...hopefully the trees are still in the courtyard...awesome tourist destination!...

So thats bout it fer now...gona check an see if my ipod's arrived yet...crappy Royal Mail...cheers!

Aftermath

Man i'm completely knackered!...in fact wen i came home last nite, i was tearing from exhaustion...believe it or not, even blinking hurt my eyes....lol..so wat did i do to drain meself?...The UKEC London Regional Games is wat happened...

The games is an annual sporting event held to gather all the Malaysian Societies in London...this year my Uni together with Queen Mary had the "privilege" of hosting this event...being the Events Secretary of UEL MSoc, i was in charge of of food and transport yet again...so i was basically the driver again....and yes, i drove the same model 17 seater minibus...the one with the 2.4 liter turbo diesel engine(awesome torque!)....but this one was really stinking and dirty...wont go into details...and because of the horifying stench, i hadto leave the window open to let in air...which ultimately froze my right ear and nose...i guess it worked cos i couldnt smell anything after that...

So anyways the games went pretty well except fer some minor inconveniences and hiccups which was expected....well at least my Uni won in the 5 a side football arena...there were claims of man handling and foulplay but hey, i didnt see anything of that sort...eheh...2 guys suffered minor injuries and one poor chap fractured his ankle...ambulance medics swooped in and whisked him away in a jiffy...was pretty dramatic cos they put him on a stretcher and rolled him out...i guess he didnt feel the pain anymore wen the all the gals focused on him...in fact he was grinning all the way...lol..other than that it was a succesful event albeit an extremely tiring one...but the best part was working with the organising committee...even some non members helped out, which was awesome....its great working with such comitted and pro active Malaysians!...overall i was up from 6am to 11pm at nite...an this mornin i hadto wake up at 7.30am fer work...sat in front of the monitor till 4.30pm this evening and slept on the train bak...was quite funny cos i called my boss Steve instead of Adam wen i left the office...and i didnt realise it til i was out of the building...no wonder he gave me a funny stare wen i left...lol

Now wen i think about it, i was totalled but i feel good bout it cos i helped to orgainse anoder succesful event plus me boss told me today that he was happy wit my work!....nothing like getting abit of encouragement for ur hard work...ahha!...anoder great weekend and more to come....cheers!

Guilty By Association

Ok ive just realised that my review of Monster was longer than Finding Neverland...im a huge fan of Johnny Depp and i feel kinda bad now...lol...basically i just wana say he was robbed of the Oscar...but then all the guys in that category were just as good and all of them deserved the award...except fer Leo boy...i refuse to waste time bashing him here...

So anyways i think ive evened out the character spaces between Monster and Finding Neverland...sori Johnny...lol

Btw, my dad has the same name as Depp...onli its spelled as Johhnie...cheers!

Upcoming Reviews

Closer is still quietly sitting in My Downloads folder...cant seem to bring meself to watch it....dono why...ahhha...lets see, over the past week ive seen Cellular (Kim Bassinger, Jason Statham), Basic (John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson), and Raging Bull (Robert Deniro)....

Just wana say Robert Deniro has never let me down before ...and watching his Oscar winning performance in Raging Bull is very enlightening for a major fan like me....ok mebe his role as a complete bum in Jackie Brown wasnt his finest performance...but hey, he's truly been a pauper and a pirate...from theGodfather to a bum and lately a deranged father...wat i'd give to experience that!...

Btw, the London IMAX Cinema is screening The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions on its 20x26 meter screen!...11,600 watts surround sound! Fricking awesome man!...ive seen the movies on big screen...but not that big!...lol

movies, movie, movies, movies, movies, movies, movie, movies, movies, movies

Monster (Review)

Been over a week since my last blog.... really busy with work and studies...im still trying to balance the two...its a good thing i like my job cos its really good experience and my boss is a nice guy...seems he's a huge motorsports fan and he's done abit of rally driving...cool boss eh...lol...

Anyhow ive managed to squeeze in the time this morning to watch a movie...im still in the Oscar mood and i decided to dowload Oscar winning films which i haven seen b4...one of them is Monster starring the vivavious Charlize Theron...its a movie about a prostitute who's had a hard life growing up and tries to change after meeting another girl(Christina Ricci)...unfortunately she makes more mistakes...based on a true story

Honestly, after thinking of The Italian Job and other low rated movies she's appeared in, i didnt expect anything great...After watching it all i can say is WOW!....Charlize totally deserves the Oscar she won...she hadto put on weight and facial prothetics to play the part and she did an amazing job at it...since The Devils Advocate and Reindeer Games, Charlize has matured immensely....winning an Oscar is the highest honour an actor can hope to achieve in a lifetime...in fact, just being nominated means u are in the league of elites...winning an Oscar means u are kosher, the ONE... overall a good movie with a pretty good soundtrack as well...thumbs up!
